ALLEGHANY COUNTY, VA (LOOTPRESS) – An 86-year-old man was killed in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 64 early Tuesday morning, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred at 12:53 a.m. on Jan. 21, about two miles west of Dabney Drive.
Authorities say a 2025 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling east in the westbound lanes when it collided head-on with a Kenworth tractor-trailer.
The driver of the Jetta, identified as Edmond Thomas Floyd of Buena Vista, was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.
The tractor-trailer driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
Virginia State police continue to investigate the crash.
