Hico – Greenbrier West exploded late, toppling Midland Trail 12-1 to end the Patriots’ season Monday in Hico.
The Cavaliers scored eight runs in the sixth inning, turning the game upside down.
Braydon McClung led the charge with three hits and two RBIs. Trail committed seven errors in the loss.
West will travel to Charleston Catholic on Tuesday, weather permitting, needing to beat the Irish twice to advance to the regional round.
