FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man faces charges after allegedly threatening to shoot his son after becoming intoxicated on Tuesday.
According to documents from the Magistrate Court of Fayette County, at approximately 4:08am on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Cpl. Hall and Deputy Bell of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the Whispering Lane area of Fayette County regarding a domestic incident between a father and son.
Upon arriving at the scene, four individuals could be observed standing outside the involved residence. Law enforcement made contact with a male who would be identified as the son of the complainant, Van Honaker.
The victim stated that his father had been intoxicated and threatened him, saying “he had one bullet left in a firearm for either his son or himself.” Honaker stated that his son had knocked over an outdoor sofa and a pizza box which was lying on the porch of the residence.
Based on these interactions, authorities determined that Honaker had indeed committed the crime of Domestic Assault – making statements which placed his son in a reasonable state of fear.
Van C. Honaker was placed under arrested and was transported for processing, after which he was transported to Southern Regional Jail. Honaker faces charges of Domestic Assault.
