BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Multiple chain stores are set to open in Beckley with construction and hiring already taking place.
So far, Academy Sports, Michaels, Boot Barn, and 7 Brew Coffee have confirmed plans to open in Beckley.

Academy Sports, a sporting goods retailer, will open in the former Kmart building at Beckley Plaza.
Construction has been underway since winter with the hiring of employees actively taking place.
An exact opening date has yet to be announced.
Michaels, an arts and craft supplier, will open on Market Road near Gabe’s and Joann Fabrics.
Construction has yet to begin, job postings have yet to be listed as well.
A Michaels spokesperson confirmed to LOOTPRESS an opening date of November 2024.
Boot Barn, a lifestyle retailer of western apparel, will open a location at the By-Pass Shopping Center in the vacant storefront between Aldi and Planet Fitness.
They have been actively hiring employees for the new location. An exact opening date has yet to be announced.
7 Brew Coffee, a drive-thru coffee store, is close to completing the construction of its first location in the Mountain State.
It will be located at the former El Bandido location on Robert C. Byrd Drive.
They have also been actively hiring employees with an opening date planned for July.
