RAVENSWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS)—TIMET (Titanium Metals Corporation) will hold three open houses in Jackson and Roane Counties throughout June and July.
The company, situated in Millwood, commenced the construction of its titanium manufacturing facility in early 2024.
Currently, in phase one of the project, TIMET aims to use the open houses as an opportunity for the community to gain insights into the project and learn about job opportunities.
Hannah Hesson, Human Resource Manager for TIMET, expressed, “We understand there is a lot of excitement and questions about the TIMET facility, and we wanted to provide the opportunity for the community to meet our staff and learn about the project and available jobs. We are continuously looking for team members to fill several different types of positions to meet the needs of the facility.”
The open houses will take place from June 24th through July 1st in Jackson and Roane Counties.

- Spencer Open House
Date: Monday, June 24th
Time: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Location: Heritage Park Community Building, 110 Church St, Spencer, WV 25276.
- Ravenswood Open House
Date: Tuesday, June 25th
Time: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Ravenswood City Hall, 1 Wall St, Ravenswood, WV 26164.
- Ripley Open House
Date: Monday, July 1st
Time: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Location: Starcher Mansion, 509 Main St, Ripley, WV 25271.
Alongside learning about the project and job opportunities, TIMET employees will be conducting STEM demonstrations for children to educate them about the power of the sun through photosynthesis.
“We wanted to provide something for the whole family at these events,” said Hesson. “Our facility will be innovatively powered by solar power, and we have a fun summer STEM activity for children to do at the event to learn about our operation’s energy source.”
The TIMET manufacturing facility will be powered by the world’s largest solar and battery storage microgrid, built and operated by BHE Renewables. This renewable energy technology will support the facility in producing titanium ingots for aerospace, defense, commercial, and industrial applications and the medical sector. Approximately 200 jobs will be needed to support the facility by 2025.
“Currently, we have a team of 25 and several openings for engineers, maintenance, hourly production, and other positions,” said Hesson. “We encourage individuals with industrial experience to apply, and we offer training programs to provide education on our manufacturing process.”
