WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A crash involving a woman and her three-year-old is said to have been caused by the woman falling asleep at the wheel.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, July 26, a deputy responded to a vehicle crash on southbound I-77 at the 166-mile marker.
The vehicle had veered off the road, partially rolled over, and struck several large boulders.
The driver, accompanied by her 3-year-old daughter, stated that she had fallen asleep at the wheel and was woken by the crash.
The vehicle, resting over the shoulder of the road, had significant damage, including a partially torn windshield.
Both the driver and her daughter were evaluated by ambulance personnel.
The vehicle was subsequently towed from the scene.
