Fairlea – Brody Hamric connected with Nate Suttle for a 64-yard score with 2:12 remaining as Greenbrier East fended off Riverside to earn a 24-20 victory Friday night in Fairlea.
East’s special teams took advantage of two Riverside safeties, one in each of the first two quarters, which ultimately made the difference in the contest.
Hamric completed 8 of 20 passes for 153 yards and three scores, connecting with Suttle, Brady May and Donavin Penn for touchdowns.
Malakhi Hope led Riverside with 180 yards rushing on 15 carries.
