BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An inmate at Southern Regional Jail is facing new charges after he was caught with methamphetamine.
On Friday, October 11th, 2024, at approximately 9:05 p.m., a state trooper responded to Southern Regional Jail in Beaver, West Virginia, following reports of an inmate in possession of contraband. Upon arrival at the facility, located at 1200 Airport Road, the trooper was met by Correctional Officer Lt. Z. Pegram, who handed over an evidence bag containing a crystal-like substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
According to a statement provided by Correctional Officer Munoz, the contraband was discovered during an unclothed body search of inmate Alexander Doty. The methamphetamine was found hidden in Doty’s pants. The inmate confirmed that the substance was indeed methamphetamine and acknowledged that it had been found on him.
