WESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A romantic relationship between two men turn violent after each of them accuse the other of cheating.
In the early hours of Sunday, October 20, law enforcement responded to a domestic violence call at 572 Limestone Run Road in Weston, West Virginia.
At approximately 12:30 AM, the Lewis County 911 center notified authorities of an altercation reported by Mr. James Gum.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers spoke with Mr. Gum and Mr. Kolby Barton. According to Mr. Gum, the two had been involved in a heated dispute throughout the day, which escalated to physical violence. He reported that Mr. Barton had bitten and struck him during the altercation, and officers noted visible marks on Mr. Gum’s body.
Mr. Barton, in turn, claimed that the argument stemmed from accusations of infidelity. Both individuals confirmed they were in a romantic relationship and cohabiting at the residence. Mr. Barton also alleged that Mr. Gum had cut him earlier in the day, with officers observing marks on his arm consistent with his account.
Following the investigation, both individuals were arrested on charges of domestic battery. They were processed at the West Virginia State Police detachment in Weston before being transported to the Central Regional Jail.
