RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The town of Rainelle is launching its first annual Christmas Light Pole Decorating Contest to spread holiday cheer.
Open to all residents, the contest encourages participants to showcase their creativity by decorating one of the town’s 20 green light poles.
If more entries are received, additional poles will be made available.
Participation is free, and the town asks decorators to keep their designs family-friendly, avoiding the use of paint, screws, or nails.
Tape and zip ties are recommended for securing decorations. Entry forms can be picked up at Rainelle City Hall, with all poles needing to be decorated by December 1.
Voting will be conducted by the community, with ballot boxes available at local businesses, including Ace Hardware, Alvis Floral, City National Bank, and others.
The winner will be announced after the Christmas parade on December 14 at 7 p.m. in Rainelle City Hall. The champion will receive a trophy and a gift card.
