MARSHALL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 16-year-old boy has died following a house fire early Friday morning on Walnut Avenue in Moundsville.
The fire broke out around 2:00 a.m., and firefighters discovered the victim inside the home.
Emergency crews contacted the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office to investigate the cause of the blaze.
Investigators have ruled the fire’s cause as undetermined but believe it was most likely accidental.
The victim’s remains have been sent to the West Virginia State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and formal identification.
Authorities have not released additional details at this time.
