POINT PLEASANT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Ashton man was sentenced recently for the sexual assault of a 14-year-old.
The Mason County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office reports that, on Monday, October 21, 2024, 32-year-old Ashton man Keith M. Williams was sentenced in the Circuit Court of Mason County for convictions pertaining to the felony offense of “sexual assault in the 3rd degree.”
The sentencing follows Williams’ conviction on charges in relation to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old juvenile minor.
The Honorable R. Craig Tatterson oversaw hearing proceedings, and Williams was sentenced in the Circuit Court of Mason County to one-to-five years in prison for the crimes in question.
Also ordered as part of the sentencing was 30 years of extended supervision and a lifetime registration as a sex offender for Williams.
Prosecutor Seth Gaskins of the Mason County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office extended his gratitude to Corporal S.C. Allen of the West Virginia State Police, “for his thorough investigation and for helping to bring this defendant to justice.”
The sentencing was followed by that of Ohio man, Billy Joe Bowman – 48 years old – on a conviction for the felony offense of “Felon in Possession of a Firearm.” As part of the conviction, Bowman would be sentenced to three years in prison by Mason County Circuit Court Judge , R. Craig Tatterson.
