WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A single-vehicle crash on Robert Byrd Highway on Monday left one person seriously injured and another with minor injuries.
According to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at the 23-mile marker, just past the Ritchie County line.
Investigators determined that a 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander, driven by Patrick Aumick, was traveling eastbound when it veered off the roadway behind a guardrail and flipped multiple times.
The passenger, Angeline Hill, was taken to Camden Clark Medical Center for treatment and released.
Aumick was also transported to Camden Clark by EMS before being airlifted to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown with serious injuries.
Multiple agencies responded to the crash, including the Wood County and Ritchie County Sheriff’s Offices, Camden Clark EMS, Ritchie County EMS, and the Deerwalk, Ellenboro, and Cairo Volunteer Fire Departments.
