Former Bluefield boys basketball coach Charles “Buster” Large died Saturday.
Large, who served as a coach at various levels was known mostly for his time at the head of the Bluefield program where he led the Beavers to five Class AA state championship games (2012-14, ’22 and ’24), winning titles in 2013 and ’14.
He resigned following the 2023-24 season which saw the Beavers finish as the Class AA state runners-up.
