RAINELLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Sewell Valley Baptist Church is opening Rainelle Christian Academy as a temporary warming shelter for residents in need.
The shelter, located at 1256 James River and Kanawha Turnpike, opened on Sunday, and will remain open until Thursday, January 23, at 8:00 a.m.
Organizers are seeking donations of essential items, including:
- Individual bags of trail mix
- Cheese or peanut butter cracker packs
- Bottled water
- Hand warmers
- Beanies, scarves, and gloves
- Hand sanitizer
- Warm socks
- Small bags of beef jerky or beef sticks
- Two-gallon ziplock bags
- Wet wipes
