Greenbrier East 7, James Monroe 2
The Spartans scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never trailed in a 7-2 win over James Monroe at Spartan Yards Tuesday.
Clayton Morgan had a pair of hits and drove in a run, while Christopher Heaster smacked a triple and had an RBI for East. Peyton DeHaven and Jonathan Sauls each had a double and an RBI.
Darris Boswell pitched six solid innings allowing just two hits and striking out nine to get the win.
Jordan Feamster and Grant Lively had a double for James Monroe.
Greenbrier East travels to Oak Hill Friday for a key sectional clash, while the Mavs travel to Covington, Va. today.
