FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman is facing charges after she pulled someone over and impersonated a law enforcement officer.
According to Fayette County deputies, on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, a call came in on U.S. Route 19 in the Scarbro area about a person impersonating a law officer. Â When deputies spoke to the victim, he said he was traveling to Pax to work when a black SUV came up behind him at a high rate of speed. Â The victim stated that he was concerned there was a problem, at which time he pulled over to let the vehicle around or to see what was wrong. Â The victim stated that a female exited the car behind him, came up to him, and told him she had caught him going 90 miles per hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone on her “scope.” Â The victim said the woman told him not to leave and returned to her vehicle.
The victim didn’t believe the female was a law enforcement officer at this time. Â He got her license plate and gave it to the police. Â The tag returned to being registered with Enterprise, a car rental company.
Fayette County 911 advised the officer that before the victim called, the suspect called in, saying she saw a vehicle going 90 in a 55-mile-per-hour zone and had them pulled over. Â She identified herself as Alex Linkswiler, and she was outside her district.
Deputies contacted Enterprise to find out who had rented the vehicle, and they told them it was Alexandria Linkswiler. Â Many law officials determined that Ms. Linkswiler was not employed as a law officer in Raleigh or Nicholas Counties, nor for the WV State Police.
Linkswiler was arrested for impersonating a law enforcement officer. Â She is currently out on bond.
