HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Today, the City of Hinton held an official grand opening ceremony for the new Community Park in town.
The event attracted many within the community who was excited to come out and celebrate the opening of the new park while enjoying donuts and apple cider.
The park was funded and constructed by local volunteers, businesses, organizations, and the City of Hinton.
Constructing the park took 75 volunteers and three years. Officials say there are plans to include hopscotch, tic-tac-toe, and planter boxes for the community. People can expect more read-aloud events for kids, corn hole tournaments, and much more.
Currently, volunteers are needed to assist in maintaining the park and administering the activities.
The new Community Park is located at 15th and Summers Street in Hinton.
