CROSS LANES, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after waking up screaming about a broken door which led him to punch his girlfriend and threaten her kids.
According to a criminal complaint, police responded to a residence on Dalewood Drive in Cross Lanes on August 17 for a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival at the scene, police were able to locate and detain the suspect identified as 28-year-old Zachary Sanford.
The victim, Stanford’s girlfriend, told police that Sanford had woken up screaming about a broken door. Sanford came into the bedroom and struck her with a closed left fist on the right side of her body.
Sanford then chased the victim’s children telling them if they called the police, “he would hurt them,” the complaint alleges.
The complaint further states that police found the children crying and disheveled in their bedroom. The victim stated that she was in fear for her life and her children’s lives.
Zachary Sanford was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery and Domestic Assault. He is currently out on bond.
