GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A father who had an incestual relationship with his daughter has been sentenced to prison.
Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney Patrick Via tells Lootpress that John David Long, 51, of Greenbrier County, had a sentencing hearing on August 29, 2023, for incest. The judge sentenced Long to 10 – 30 years in prison. Once out of prison, he must serve 5-15 years in home confinement. Â Long must also register as a sex offender for life. Via says that after Long completes home confinement, he will face 25 years of state-mandated supervision.
Long and his daughter, Jessica Offenberger, 29 at the time of the arrest, confessed to having sex 88 times together. The incest between the father and his daughter started in November of 2019.
Between 2019 and 2022, the daughter, Jessica Offenberger, told police that her father, John Long, would give her money to buy drugs before having sex. They both admitted that most of the sexual encounters occurred in a camper in Lilly Grove, and a few other times occurred on backroads across Greenbrier County.
The daughter and father both said the sex was consensual and wasn’t forced.
It’s unknown if Offenberger has been sentenced; Lootpress is still awaiting a response.
