MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A company based in North Carolina will be moving its manufacturing company to Mercer County.
ESC Brands, LLC is a company that specializes in safe and long-lasting nano antimicrobial coatings and antiviral technologies. In addition, they produce household cleaning products, sanitizers, disinfectants, pet care products, and insect repellants. Their current brands are MyShield, PharmaCare, GermFree24, and Envior-cide.
ESC will be moving in three phases. The first phase will be setting up a warehouse and distribution center in Princeton. The next step will be to develop and break ground on a federal research laboratory. Finally, the third phase will begin in 2022, expanding their building to a manufacturing facility for different products.
The CEO of ESC Brands, Bruce Smyth, says the county made him feel welcomed from the beginning.
“We’re excited about moving to Mercer County. We’ve been pleased with the support and help from the state and county, so they’ve made it possible,” said Smyth.
The Executive Director for Mercer County Economic Development Authority, John O’Neal, says this company could bring about 300 jobs to the community.
“It’s a big win for Mercer County, for the region, and the state of West Virginia as a whole. It’s nice to get additional jobs that are innovative and feature cutting-edge technology,” said O’Neal.
According to Smyth, ESC’s products in the Mercer County facility will be a next-generation silicone cleaner.
