BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Just For Kids Child Advocacy Center received additional funds on Friday for continued renovations to the office space of the organization’s Beckley facility.
The funding, presented by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Raleigh County and West Virginia House of Delegates member Todd Kirby, will go toward improvements and renovations, including roofing upgrades.
Recently appointed Just For Kids Executive Director, Dr. Deanee’ Johnson was on hand to accept a check for the funding. Additional improvements and upgrades for the facility are also in the works, and according to Dr. Johnson, include improvements to outside siding and columns, as well as the implementation of an upstairs nurse examination room to be used for victims of sexual assault.
Like all endeavors of the organization, these efforts will ultimately serve to benefit the children of the community. Former Just For Kids Executive Director, Scott Miller spoke with LOOTPRESS earlier in the fall about a certain affinity youngsters seem to foster for the uniquely structured JFK Beckley offices.
“It’s on two and a half acres and it’s just a beautiful spot,” Miller exclaimed. “Many of the kids look at it and they see a castle.”
