CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 61-year-old male died in a residential fire in Kanawha County, WV on January 5, 2024.
Kanawha County 911 received the call at approximately 8:50 pm on January 5, 2024, for a house fire on Rabbit Creek Lane in the Town of Clendenin. When firefighters arrived, they found the victim near an exit door and removed him from the structure. Once the victim was removed, responders discovered that the victim had already passed.
The victim has been transported to the WV Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy and positive identification.
Smoke alarms were found within the residence, but it is unknown if they operated. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
