MILL CREEK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One man has been arrested after strangling his ex-wife.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, on January 6, 2024, at approximately 2:04 PM, Randolph County E-911 dispatched an active domestic in progress on Prison Mine Rd in Mill Creek.
Dispatchers then advised law enforcement that the alleged male aggressor was armed with an AR-15-style assault rifle.
Deputies along with Troopers with the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Elkins Detachment then responded.
Dispatchers then advised law enforcement that the defendant fled the scene prior to their arrival.
The victim then advised officers that her ex-husband came into her residence in an attempt to work out marital issues.
She further stated that she told him that he knew how she felt, told him no, and asked him to leave.
The victim then advised that after their daughter walked away from them “he grabbed me by the throat” and started choking her, which resulted in her being unable to breathe.
The victim further stated that the male made a pistol with his right hand, put his finger against her temple, pushed it hard, and told her he was going to kill her.
She then advised that after she got him off of her, he grabbed her arms, squeezed her, and shook her.
The defendant was then located and taken into custody without incident, he was subsequently charged with Strangulation.
Additional charges are pending at this time.

The suspect’s name has not been released.
