BEAVER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman faces child endangerment charges after drugs were found where children could reach them.
According to Raleigh County deputies, on June 22, 2021, deputies were called to a welfare call home in Beaver. Â When deputies arrived at the home, a witness was outside playing with three children and told authorities that he came to visit them. Â He said that the female who lived at home was supposed to be watching them but was inside, and she was acting erratically.
When deputies knocked on the door, the suspect, Peggy McCracken, came to the door and showed signs of being on some stimulant. Â Deputies say that McCracken could not stand still; she was sweating profusely, her speech was swift, and she could barely hold a conversation.
McCracken admitted to deputies that she used “10 grams of meth a little bit ago.” Â Foil with meth inside was lying on the washing machine and could easily be reached by the children at home. Â A family relative took all five children, and McCracken was placed under arrest.
McCracken faces five counts of child neglect creating the risk of injury or death, and one count of possession of a controlled substance. She is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 50,000 dollar bond.
