Elkins – Sevens were wild Wednesday and the bats were red-hot for Beckley Post 32 Top Prospects who swept a doubleheader from Elkins Post 29.
Post 32 rolled past Elkins 18-1 in five innings to open the twin-bill and backed it up with a 12-6 triumph in game two.
In the opener, Beckley Post 32 took control of the game from the opening pitch, scoring seven runs in each of the first two innings.
Former Nicholas County all-stater Cole Brown led the 12-hit attack with a home run, a double and three RBI.
Reece Patterson and Gabe Patton also drove in three runs, while Blake Stratton added two RBI with three hits in four trips to the plate.
Peyton DeHaven added two hits and one RBI. Jared Vestal smacked a double and drove in a run as well.
Bryson Redmond, Brayden Kiblinger and Colten Tate each added one RBI. Kiblinger and DeHaven combined on a one-hitter and allowed no earned runs.
With game two tied at 3-3 through three innings, Post 32 hung seven once again on the home squad and cruised to the win.
Brady Scott collected three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs, while Adam Richmond added a double, a single and drove in two runs.
Redmond, Stratton, Vestal, Tate and Grayson Kesterson had one RBI apiece.
Beckley Post 32 (12-0) is back in action Sunday for a doubleheader with South Charleston Post 94 at W.Va. State University.
