BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Beckley Area Foundation this week recognized a lifetime supporter and donor with BAF, Joyce Broyles, who passed away in April of this year.
One of the very first individuals to be employed with Beckley Area Foundation, Joyce began her relationship with the organization as the BAF Office Manager in 1985. In this role, she was responsible for the design, composition, and preparation of the Beckley Area Foundation’s annual report for many years.
Broyles spoke of her involvement with Beckley Area Foundation in 2021, stating, “I am blessed to have been involved with Beckley Area Foundation since the beginning, when they were established in 1985. BAF does good work in the community, and they continue to grow each year,” she said. “I’m just so proud… I believe strongly in BAF, which is why I’ve left everything I have to them, including my estate. I did everything I could to help get BAF started, and I will continue to support them.”
During her lifetime, Joyce started eight separate funds with Beckley Area Foundation, many of which serve to benefit education and animals. Funds established by Joyce along with Dr. Randall Broyles include the following:
Animal Rescue Fund
Dr. Randall Broyles Scholarship Fund
All Creatures Great and Small Fund
West Virginia Public Broadcasting Fund
Second Chance Scholarship Fund for Women
Joyce L. Broyles Fund
Raleigh County Historical Society Fund
