SNOWSHOE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Recent winter storms have delivered over 33” of snow in the last week at Snowshoe Mountain, the region’s largest ski area. This stretch of winter weather is expected to continue for the foreseeable future, with more snow on the way.
“These are some of the best snow conditions we’ve seen in the last decade.” said Snowshoe spokesperson Shawn Cassell. “Our operations team has taken full advantage of this cooperative weather and we’ve been opening more trails every day this week. We expect to have 45+ trails open by this weekend, and if this cold stretch continues we’ll be fully open very soon. Now is the time to make your plans to get up here while the getting is good!”
Snowshoe’s total season snowfall currently sits at 99” and counting. The resort is currently offering the most open terrain in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Forecasters are monitoring another potential round of heavy snow headed to the mountains this weekend.
