The race is over for the House of Delegates District 34 as Brent Boggs (D) seizes his thirteenth term against rival candidate Leatha Williams (R). Boggs first assumed office in 1996. He currently acts as Minority Chair on the Senior, Children and Family Issues Committee is also assigned to the Energy, Finance and Technology and Infrastructure Committees. District 34 covers Braxton County, as well as a portion of Gilmer County.
Boggs is on the Board of Directors for the Mountaineer Food Bank, Braxton County Memorial Hospital, Highmark Blue Cross/ Blue Shield, Appalachian Area Agency on Aging, Central West Virginia Aging Services, Inc. and the Gilmer-Braxton Technology Research Zone, of which he is also Former President. He also holds several memberships with various organizations such as the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, National Rifle Association, the West Virginia Farm Bureau, and Scottish Rite Bodies to name a few.
