BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is facing charges after allegedly trying to run over a female he had been seeing for around two weeks.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department was called to the Holiday Inn in Beckley about a domestic situation. When deputies arrived, the female victim said that her boyfriend, George Leake, who she had been seeing for approximately two weeks, had attempted to hit her with his vehicle.
The victim showed deputies where part of the oil and car debris was in the parking lot. She stated that Leake hit the curb after accelerating toward her. The victim said that before Leake attempted to hit her with the vehicle, he was hitting and kicking the car next to her while she was trying to retrieve her belongings.
Deputies say they followed the oil trail to the Microtel parking lot behind the Holiday Inn. They found the suspect. Deputies say they found three blue tablets in his pocket, which Leake identified as “Xany Footballs.” He said there should be 20, and deputies were able to recover some of them in the parking lot. Leake did not have a prescription for the pills.
Leake is charged with domestic battery and possession of a controlled substance. He is currently out on Bond.
