HARRISONBURG, VA (LOOTPRESS) – Although Buc-ee’s has yet to move into West Virginia, two locations are planned for I-64 and I-81 in Virginia bringing the brand even closer to the Mountain State.
Buc-ee’s, the Texas-based travel center chain famous for its expansive stores and clean facilities, is making a move into Virginia.
With plans underway for two new locations, one in New Kent County and another in Rockingham County, residents and travelers alike are in for a treat.
Located at the exit 211 interchange along Interstate 64, Buc-ee’s is set to construct a colossal 74,000-square-foot store.
This travel center will boast an impressive array of amenities including 120 fueling positions, 557 parking spaces, 24 Tesla charging spaces, and 10 bus/RV parking spaces.
The anticipated opening in 2027 is set to bring a new standard of convenience and comfort to Virginia travelers.
This development is expected to be a significant economic driver for New Kent County, with over 175 full-time jobs offering competitive wages averaging between $16 to $18 per hour.
According to Buc-ee’s representatives, the New Kent location will not only feature their renowned selection of freshly prepared foods.
This new location will also offer a unique shopping experience with a variety of gifts, housewares, clothing, and travel gear.
Transportation improvements are also a key focus, with the development team working closely with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and County planning staff.
This includes coordinating efforts with the ongoing I-64 widening project and ensuring that necessary overpass revisions and traffic improvements are synchronized with the project’s timeline.
In Rockingham County, Buc-ee’s plans to open another 74,000 square foot travel center at the exit 240 interchange along Interstate 81, scheduled for 2025.
This location will feature 120 fueling positions and 24 electric vehicle charging stations, catering to a wide range of travelers’ needs.
The arrival of Buc-ee’s in both New Kent and Rockingham counties is expected to not only enhance travel convenience but also stimulate local economies by generating substantial tax revenue and providing numerous employment opportunities.
