MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University Offensive Coordinator and Running Backs Coach Chad Scott has been named interim head coach for the Mountaineers’ upcoming bowl game.
The announcement follows WVU Athletic Director Wren Baker’s statement late Sunday confirming that Neal Brown will no longer serve as head coach of the Mountaineers.
Scott, a native of Plant City, Florida, joined WVU in 2019 after serving as the Running Backs Coach at Louisville.
According to Baker, a nationwide search for the next head coach is already underway.
While potential candidates have been widely discussed on social media, WVU has not released any official information regarding the search.
As of now, the Mountaineers are awaiting an official bowl invitation.
