COAL CITY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Coal City Volunteer Fire Department has placed an ambulance in service at its Rhodell station for the first time in over twenty years.
The ambulance was placed in service at Coal City VFD Station 2 in the Rhodell area and staffed by an ALS unit in conjunction with 24-hour EMS coverage at the primary station in Coal City.
Coal City Volunteer Fire Department extended their gratitude to Beckley-Raleigh County Emergency Services as well as the Raleigh County Commission and the citizens of Raleigh County.
At a recent meeting of the Raleigh County Commission, the Coal City Volunteer Fire Department was approved for a grant in the amount of $44,538.75 for ambulance and EMS services in the Coal City area.
“We were made the primary 911 provider for our entire fire coverage area. We have 2 ambulance pagers dispatched from our 2 stations. Station 1 located at 1715 Coal City Road in Coal City and our station 2 located at 7264 Coal City Road in Rhodell,” said the Coal City Volunteer Fire Department in a statement. “If you or anyone you know requires emergency or non-emergency transport please contact us for all your needs.”
