BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – At Tuesday’s assembly of the Raleigh County Commission, time was taken during the proceedings to congratulate a local organization director on the reception of an annual state award.
Executive Director of Visit Southern West Virginia tourism, Lisa Strader, has been named the recipient of the WV Tourism Professional of the Year award for 2022.
The award, distributed in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Tourism, is given in recognition of individuals who make outstanding and significant contributions to the state’s tourism industry.
“We have with us Ms. Lisa Strader who was the recipient of an award as far as tourism for the State of West Virginia, and she was picked as the recipient winner for this year,” said Commission President Dave Tolliver, introducing Strader who was present, roughly halfway through Tuesday’s meeting. “Congratulations, Ms. Lisa. We appreciate you coming.”
The session also saw the presentation of a number of rezoning petitions and property bids, along with typical agenda items such as budget revisions and exonerations.
