ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Concord University has announced that the university has received Title III funding for multiple projects.
Made available through the CU Forward initiative – supported by the Department of Education’s Title III Strengthening Institutions Program – Concord continues to progress in the strengthening of its undergraduate research experience as well as innovate in the online learning sector and enhance career exploration.
The five-year grant was initially awarded in 2020 as a means of implementing the CU Forward initiative, which serves as a comprehensive project with a focus on increasing affordable general education access as well as market-driven degree programs through innovative course made available online, the development of a robust and transparent office of Institutional Research for the sharing of data with students, community, faculty, parents, and staff, and the provision of student engagement with internships and research which lead to graduation and successful transitions into the professional world.
State-of-the-art projects will be implemented by faculty to align with the goals set forth by the CU Forward program for the academic year of 2024-2025. The academic year will mark the final year for Title III funding in a five-year grant.
Advertising/Graphic Design will be among the programs for which funding has been provided in the College of Professional and Liberal Studies sector, along with Education and Social Work.
In the College of Science, Mathematics, and Health sector, Digital Content Recording Infrastructure and Virtualization Server for Departmental Programs have received funding in the amounts of $7,500 and $3,500, respectively.
The Department of Biology and Department of Physical & Environmental Sciences sector will see funding for infrastructure investments of a critical nature with regard to undergraduate research. These will include upgrades for interface systems, equipment, and function to expectations of the current era.
The Concord University Department of Health Sciences will see funding for the development of an Exercise Science Lab which will assist in increasing research of students as well as learning experiences which are hands-on in nature.
