BOONE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Thursday, January 2, 2024, at approximately 11:30 PM, law enforcement responded to a domestic disturbance on Nellis Road in Boone County. The incident involved Ms. Johnna Kay Childers, who was allegedly engaged in an altercation with her mother.
According to Trooper M.D. Veres and Senior Trooper A.R. Workman, who arrived on the scene, the victim was found standing on the side of the road and informed officers that the accused had fled to a neighboring residence.
Officers located Ms. Childers at the back door of the neighboring property. Due to her erratic behavior, Senior Trooper Workman placed her in hand restraints while the investigation unfolded.
The victim reported that during the altercation, Ms. Childers screamed in her face, assumed a mounted position, and attempted to gouge her eyes with her thumbs. She also stated that Ms. Childers punched her in the face and the back of her head while repeatedly threatening to kill her.
The victim further disclosed that such incidents have been part of an ongoing pattern of violence involving Ms. Childers.
