BARBOUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On October 8, 2024, Deputy G. Elbon of the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Thomas Griffith after prior attempts to reach him were unsuccessful. Deputy Elbon reported several attempts to serve the warrant at Griffith’s residence, but each visit yielded no contact.
During his visits, Deputy Elbon observed through the home’s windows that a small, brown dog had been left alone in the residence. The dog appeared to be suffering from fur loss and had been forced to relieve itself indoors, as it had reportedly been left unattended for at least four days. The apartment was described as being in poor condition, creating an environment unsuitable for an animal’s well-being.
On October 10, Griffith reportedly informed Deputy Elbon he would be out of town until Thursday, October 17, and that no one would be visiting the residence during his absence.
