ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Those looking for something different to do during the winter season are in luck as the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad is bringing back rail excursions from Elkins to Tygart Junction for the first time since 2000.
This scenic, four-hour train ride departs the Historic Elkins Depot in Randolph County and travels through remote parts of West Virginia alongside the rugged Tygart Valley River, past raging rapids, large boulders and the picturesque Wilmoth Falls.
This winter train ride will operate on Fridays and Saturdays beginning January 13th through March 18th.
On the trip to Tygart Junction, enjoy a cold cut lunch, which is included in the ticket price. If you’re looking for comfort and spectacular river views on a vintage train, then this is the ride for you.
Those looking for extra leg room, adult beverages, and their own private train host may upgrade to the Parlor Car service for those special perks and more.
