WASHINGTON COUNTY, TN (LOOTPRESS) – Eight men were arrested by Washington County, TN Sheriff’s Deputies for looting in a flood-ravaged section of the region, Sheriff Keith Sexton announced on Saturday, Sept. 28.
The arrests occurred in the 107 area of Tennessee, which has been hit hard by ongoing catastrophic flooding.
The men are currently being held at the Washington County Detention Center on $20,000 bonds each.
They are scheduled to appear in court today, Monday, September 30.
Those charged with burglary include:
Jesus Leodan Garcia-Peneda, 51
Josue Berardo Ortis-Valdez, 30
Ersy Leonel Ortis-Valdez, 33
Additionally, five men were charged with aggravated burglary for breaking into occupied structures:
Albin Nahun Vega-Rapalo, 24
David Bairon Rapalo-Rapalo, 37
Kevin Noe Martinez-Lopez, 25
Marvin Hernandez-Martinez, 43
Dayln Gabriel Guillen Guillen, 37
Sheriff Sexton says that deputies will continue patrolling flood zones to prevent further looting and ensure public safety.
