PAX, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man is in jail after sexually abusing a child.
According to court documents, Charles Haggerty was kicked out of his home, and a friend let him move in. While living with the woman and her two kids, Haggerty started sexually abusing one of the children. Haggerty told the boy not to say anything to anyone, or he would hurt him. For several months, the abuse went on in several different places while the mom and brother were gone.
The mother kicked Haggerty out because he wasn’t holding up his end of the bills.
Police confirmed that Haggerty was extradited to the State of Alabama to face charges of sexual abuse of a minor child in that state.
Haggerty is charged with six counts of second-degree sexual assault, six counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian, or person of trust, and soliciting a minor via a computer.
