OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Jeffery T. Mauzy, Prosecuting Attorney, announces that on November 17, 2020, Johnny E. McKinney, age 65 of Oak Hill, entered a guilty plea to the felony crime of sexual abuse in the first degree.
He will be sentenced on January 11, 2021, by Judge Thomas H. Ewing, and he faces one (1) to five (5) years in prison. He also must register as a sex offender for life, and he faces intensive supervision up to fifty (50) years.
The child victim in this case lived with McKinney in February 2019, when the abuse occurred.
The investigation into the child’s allegations began in January 2020.
This crime was investigated by the Oak Hill Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Sarah F. Smith.
