BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Five Below of Mercer Mall has officially opened its doors to customers and celebrated over the weekend with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring the Chamber of Commerce of the Two Virginias.
The highly anticipated addition stands to breathe new life into Bluefield’s Mercer Mall which, along with most mall locations throughout the state, has encountered economic struggles stemming from a notable societal shift in the way shoppers purchase their goods. Namely, online shopping has created new challenges for most brick-and-mortar retail locations not only throughout the state of West Virginia, but throughout the country as well.
Nonetheless, the opportunity for Five Below to establish itself within such proximity to Mercer County communities has been a source of great excitement in recent months during the lead-up to the location’s official opening. This enthusiasm extended to team leadership, with Five Below of Mercer Mall Store Manager, Joe Ford having taken note of the value in the opportunity of bringing the store to the area immediately.
“The Five Below team saw an opportunity to bring America’s kids’ store to Mercer Mall and jumped at it,” Ford is purported to have stated with regard to the development. “This new location has been about a year in the making.”
Situated within the Mercer Mall near Sauced and Loaded, the Five Below of Mercer Mall is operational from 9:00am to 9:00pm, with a possible extension of hours to 10:00pm potentially on the horizon.
“The staff at Five Below is ready to wow customers with their excellent prices and the ease of shopping for anything you need, even for pets!,” read a statement attributed to Five Below Interim District Manager, Alicia Wines.
