TALCOTT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Summers County man faces sexual abuse and sexual assault charges.
According to State Police, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, a state trooper was assigned to a case of a fourteen-year-old female who had disclosed having sex with six men over the age of twenty. During the course of the investigation, this officer identified persons of interest to include John Calendine and Jonathan Pakacki.
Troopers interviewed the victim’s aunt, who said her sister let the child do whatever she wanted. She also stated that her sister has moved numerous persons in her home and would leave her children unattended. In 2019, the aunt stated she stopped by at home and found Jonathan Pakacki in bed with the child, with only shorts.
When police interviewed Pakacki, he said he was just friends with the victim and had stayed at home for the past year. Mr. Pakacki admitted to smoking marijuana with the child but denied having done anything sexual. Later, police interviewed a second suspect, John Calendine, who is Pakacki’s cousin. Calendine told troopers that he knew his cousin was having sex with the child and that he had shown him photographs of the child nude from his cellphone.
Troopers interviewed others that lived in the home, and they say Pakacki lived there on and off for the past year and would find him in bed with the child.
On Wednesday, February 10, 2021, officers were able to review messages from the child’s phone, which depicted a relationship between Mr. Pakacki and the child, with both stating, “I love you” in several messages.
The victim told troopers that Pakacki had sex with her approximately five times in December of 2020.
Troopers also investigated Pakacki in 2019 for the use of obscene matter to seduce a child in regards to the same victim. They found a photograph of Pakacki on the child’s phone with a mostly nude photo of himself except his genitals.
Pakacki is charged with third-degree sexual abuse, third-degree sexual assault, distribution exhibiting material, and contribution to a minor’s delinquency. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 51,000 dollar bond.
