FAIRMONT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Fairmont State University alumnus, Jonathan Board has been announced as the keynote speaker for the Fall 2024 Commencement.
Board, a distinguished leader in healthcare, law, and community service, will be returning to his alma mater as keynote speaker for the 2024 Fall commencement, which is scheduled to take place on December 14, 2024.
Board has held roles in leadership in both the public and private sectors. His experience includes serving as the Vice President of External Affairs and Mon Health and Chairman of the Marion County Chamber of Commerce. He is also dedicated to the promotion of long-term healing in West Virginia through his work with the West Virginia First Foundation, which oversees opioid settlement funds.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jonathan back to Fairmont State as our keynote speaker,” said Fairmont State University President, Mike Davis. “Jonathan’s commitment to the betterment of West Virginia and his enduring connection to his roots here in Fairmont serve as an inspiring model for our graduates. His experience in law, healthcare, and community leadership will offer our students a powerful example of how they can positively impact their communities.”
Board has taken on various leadership roles throughout his career, including the role of CEO of Axios International and President of the White Hall Business Association. A graduate of Fairmont State University and the West Virginia University College of Law, Board’s efforts serve as a reflection of his dedication to the improvement of the lives of those around him and of those throughout the community and state.
