Fayetteville – The Beckley Little League Softball All-Star team was at a crossroad Monday night.
After a loss to Jefferson in game two Sunday of the double elimination format, Beckley found itself in a must win situation Monday to keep its state tournament dreams alive.
Clearly the Beckley girls were not ready to pack up their gear.
Pounding out 21 hits over four innings, Beckley rolled past Charleston Northeast 20-2 in the Herd Division.
Beckley will be back in action Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in another elimination game against the winner of Summersville and Logan.
The girls from the City of Champions set the tone from the opening swing by scoring four runs in the first inning before adding seven more in the second frame.
Maddie Yonts was 4-for-4 on the day with a double and five RBI, while Raelyn Cline was also perfect in four plate appearances with two RBI.
Leavie Lilly and Addy Boggs both collected three hits, including a double, and drove in three runs apiece.
Aubree Gill had two hits sending home two additional runs and Chloe Elmore also had two RBI game for Beckley.
