BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces charges after allegedly pushing a woman down and beating her with a closed fist.
According to officers, they responded to a domestic call on Franklin Street on April 30, 2023. When they arrived, the victim stated that Antonio Bland had pushed her down on the floor and beat her with his fist. She took off running to another house and asked for help. Officers noticed several knots around the top of her head, blood coming from her nose, a swollen eye, and swollen lip.
Bland told police that the victim had come at him with a knife first, and he ran, fell on the ground, and scraped his knees. Police say they did notice minor scrapes on his fingers and dried blood on them, where he stated that she cut him.
Bland is charged with domestic battery. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 3,000 dollar cash-only bond.
