HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man has been apprehended following a reported armed robbery at a CVS pharmacy in Huntington on November 19, 2024.
According to authorities, Cabell County 911 received a call at 3:44 PM from a store clerk, who reported that a man wearing a green hoodie, gray pants, and a white mask had entered the store and demanded money from the register. During the incident, the suspect kept his hands in the front pocket of his hoodie and allegedly threatened her, saying he would shoot her if she “made a wrong move.” Fearing for her life, she complied and handed over the money, which included a tracking device to help law enforcement locate the suspect.
Shortly after leaving the store, the suspect’s description was broadcasted to officers. A responding officer located a man matching the description near 30th Street and 5th Avenue. The suspect, later identified as Norman Ratliff, was stopped and detained after a brief encounter.
Upon searching Ratliff, officers found a red cloth resembling a mask in the pocket of his hoodie, as well as a black money band and a white bag believed to contain the stolen cash. Ratliff informed officers that he had a knife on him but did not resist arrest. Security footage from the CVS store confirmed his appearance matched that of the robbery suspect.
Ratliff was transported to police headquarters for further questioning while officers collected evidence and statements from the store.
The investigation is ongoing, and Ratliff faces charges related to the robbery. No injuries were reported during the incident.
