MILL CREEK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia man is behind bars on multiple charges after assaulting his girlfriend, threatening to slit his girlfriend’s mother’s throat, and stating that the whole Randolph County Sheriff’s Department needed to be killed.
On, Tuesday, January 24, 2023, Deputy T.J. Knots, Chief Deputy B.T. Sharp, and Deputy A.M. Channell, responded to a call from Randolph E-911 in reference to a Domestic Disturbance at Dagwood Lane, in Mill Creek WV.
When deputies arrived they made contact with a female victim who advised that her husband, the defendant, had assaulted her and was threatening to “cut her mom’s throat, and strangle her”.
Deputies then responded to the area of Shaffer’s Run Rd just above Dagwood Ln. Upon their arrival in the area, they observed a male subject matching the description of the defendant. When the subject saw Law Enforcement, he jumped a fence and began to run away. The defendant was then apprehended by deputies.
Deputies then received a written statement from the victim, she advised that on January 23rd, the defendant accused her of poisoning his food and became very paranoid. She stated that he slapped her in front of her mom.
She further stated that they called 911 for an ambulance for the defendant but he refused treatment. She advised that when she got him home, they laid down. She advised he began accusing her of having sex with someone in the living room.
She then stated that he had her “strip down to check me. During the process he grabbed me by my breast, jerking on it trying to rip it off”. She advised that he threatened to “sexually assault me with the hammer. He then grabbed me by my leg and dragged me across the living room floor”.
The victim further stated that before law enforcement arrived, he began calling her and telling her that he was “going to my mom’s to cut her throat”, the second time he said he “would strangle her”. Police say that the victim had visible injuries that were photographed and corroborated her statement.
While transporting the defendant to the Randolph County Magistrates Office for arraignment, the defendant stated “the whole Randolph County Sheriff’s Department needed to be killed”.
He also carried on numerous conversations with himself while in Law Enforcement custody. He then advised Deputies that he could speak to people from anywhere he was.
The defendant was charged with Obstructing, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Domestic Battery, and Domestic Assault. He was transported to TVRJ until he can post bond.
The name of the suspect has not been released at this time.
