PARKERSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces charges after attempting to meet up with what he believed to be a 15 year old girl with the intention of engaging in sexual activity.Â
According to reports from the Parkersburg Police Department, on Monday, November 7, 2022, Detectives with the department arrested Ryan Thomas Sullivan, 29 of Parkersburg for Soliciting a Minor Via a Computer and Use or Presentation of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.Â
Sullivan is alleged to have utilized an electronic device for the purpose of engaging in communication with a person he believed to be a 15 year old juvenile female.Â
The communications in question entailed discussion of sexual activity with the juvenile, and during these interactions Sullivan sent videos of himself.Â
Arrangements to meet were made, and Sullivan drove to a location in Parkersburg to engage the juvenile in sexual activity.
At this point Sullivan was taken into custody by uniformed police officers, and a firearm was located concealed in Mr. Sullivan’s waistband.Â
Sullivan was transported to the Parkersburg Police Department where he was processed and placed in the Wood County Holding Center to await arraignment. Sullivan was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court on Tuesday, and his bond was set at $75,000. Sullivan failed to post bond.Â
