BLUEFIELD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested on November 19, 2024, following a domestic dispute at a residence on West Cumberland Road.
Patrolman C.K. Battle of the Bluefield Police Department responded to a call regarding a domestic incident in progress at 421 W Cumberland Rd. Upon arrival, officers were met by a woman who alleged that her ex-partner, Jacob Chalender, had become aggressive during an argument.
According to the victim, Chalender had been staying at her residence as the pair attempted to reconcile after a previous breakup. However, tensions escalated when she confronted Chalender over allegations of infidelity. She reported that Chalender became verbally abusive, calling her a “fat b*#%^” and “fat whore”, and the argument soon turned destructive as he began throwing items around her bedroom.
The victim further stated that Chalender threatened her with a bat, prompting her to call for help.
Officers arrested Chalender at the scene without incident. He was transported to the Bluefield City Police Department, where he was booked and processed. Chalender is currently awaiting arraignment.
